Last April, we came up with an idea that truly excited us: creating a gift box that combines our passion for nature’s products, art, and supporting the local Cretan market. The concept was so appealing that we couldn’t stop imagining its potential.
Manos and Thanos (yes, their names rhyme!) were the first to believe in the idea, convinced that people would love an artbox. Let’s be honest: we liked it because we would’ve been very happy if friends offered us such a gift. Why? First, because of the box’s sustainability – it’s not just packaging. It can store herbs, decorate your living room, hold jewelry, socks, or anything else you can think of (feel free to share your ideas with us in the comments). And second, because it’s filled with products we use and love every day: olive oil, herbs, honey – among others.
We also imagined how amazing it would be to find one of these boxes as a guest in a hotel or Airbnb. It’s a perfect introduction to Greek culture and local tastes. Or to receive it as a thoughtful holiday gift from your workplace – a present that’s practical, sustainable, and long-lasting.
Joanna brought this vision to life with her incredible artwork, inspired by the beauty and culture of Crete. Her designs are filled with love and attention to detail, and we can’t wait for her to share more about the creative process (an interview with her is definitely coming soon).
Then George joined, fully embracing the idea (as a devoted fan of Crete and its delicious goods). He helped us connect with the right partners – from our kind local producers to the manufacturers of our boxes and tote bags – all of whom are crucial to making this dream a reality. More than that, he became a true friend, always supporting us and helping us grow personally and professionally.
After months of testing products, refining the design, and perfecting every detail, we are thrilled to announce that production of our first artboxes has begun. Over raki, we’re celebrating this milestone and looking forward to launching soon. A special thanks to Inna for her invaluable contribution to the packaging and for supporting our journey with all her strength. Although Emmanouil is currently in the United Kingdom, supporting this journey from afar, he is with us in spirit every step of the way.
We can’t wait to share these boxes with you, connecting people to our culture, embracing sustainability, and showcasing the beauty of reusable objects. That’s why we’re working hard to launch our e-shop and products as soon as possible, always focusing on the details to elevate your experience.
